Description

English mid to late C19th mahogany cased mercury wheel barometer with hygrometer and mercury Fahrenheit thermometer. Swan neck pediment with brass finial and boxwood stringing throughout the lower casework. Circular brass bezel with convex glass over a silvered dial engraved with black inches of mercury pressure index and a blued steel pressure indicating hand with a gilt history marker. The alcohol spirit level indicator at the case bottom signed for 'R.D.Gant' of 'Woodbridge'.
