American Waltham Premier 16s WW2 military pocket watch. Black enamel dial with luminous Arabic hours with matching hands and subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o/c. Base metal case with screw on front and back with 9 jewel overcoil hairspring jewelled lever movement dating from c1942, adjusted for temperature and 3 positions and numbered #31271402. The case back is inscribed Keystone 731519 and bears a broad arrow mark numbered 1520.
Case Diameter - 51mm, Depth - 14mm.
The Waltham watch company was founded by Aaron Lufkin Dennison in 1849 in Roxbury Massachusetts. In 1854 they moved to Waltham Massachusetts and the Waltham watch company was born.
