What is a crutch?
Did you know that the wire part that fixes The movement of the pendulum is called a crutch?
The crutch is fixed to the clock at the back of the movement, usually bent at a right angle at the bottom with a rectangular hole in it for the pendulum rod to slide through. If you touch it you will see it can move from side to side. Many people think the pendulum drives the clock it is the other way round. The pendulum regulates the clock and enables it to keep time.
Don’t worry if you have a clock with a broken one, we can fix it.
