Longines calibre 280 manually wound movement, lever escapement, 17 jewels, compensation balance, Incabloc shock absorber, 19800 BPH; silvered dial, raised Arabic and triangular numerals, centre seconds; two-piece polished 9ct yellow gold case, chamfered bezel, snap-on back, down-turned angular lugs. Case, dial, movement all signed. Fitted on black calve strap with lizard effect.

Longines was founded in Saint-Imier Switzerland In 1832 by Augustine Agassiz, it was originally known as Raigel Jeune & Co. Its first factory started production in 1867 in Southern Saint-Imier known locally as Les Longines, so the name Longines for watches was born.
