Signed silvered dial with polished baton hours and chromed luminous hands with sweep centre seconds and dual language day / date display at 3 o/c. Signed Seiko calibre 7009A 17 jewel jewelled lever automatic movement with signed water resistant case back numbered 316983. Recessed crown at 4 o clock. Day is advanced by turning the crown in the second position, the week day is advanced by pressing the crown in position one.Year/month of manufacture January 1983. Produced by Daini-Seikosha.

Seiko was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Ginza Tokyo. The Name Seikosha was used from 1892. ‘Seiko’ means exquisite, minute or success and ‘sha’ means house. The company is still owned by the Hattori family to this day.
