Japanese Seiko automatic day / date wrist watch in a stainless steel case on a black leather strap with silvered buckle. Signed blue dial with polished baton hours and matching hands with sweep centre seconds and day / date display at 3 o/c. Signed Seiko model 6309-8310 calibre 6309A 17 jewel jewelled lever automatic movement with signed water resistant case back numbered 8D8770. Produced December 1978.

Seiko was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Ginza Tokyo. The Name Seikosha was used from 1892. ‘Seiko’ means exquisite, minute or success and ‘sha’ means house. The company is still owned by the Hattori family to this day.
