American Watch Co. Waltham lever pocket watch in a silver case with Birmingham hallmark for 1883, case numbered #55528 and 'AB'. Key wind and time change with signed white enamel dial and black Roman hours with gilt hands and subsidiary seconds dial. Back plate signed and numbered #2463341 with engraved cock piece and jewelled end stone.

Case Diameter - 48mm, Depth - 19mm.

The casemaker 'AB' Alfred Bedford succeeded to the managership of Waltham in Britain when Seeland left. Bedford subsequently became the general manager in Europe of the Waltham Watch Company.
