Heavy 8 day scrolling black marble cased mantel clock with malachite inlay and carved and gilded floral motif decoration circa 1890. Circular gilt bezel with flat chamfered glass over a black dial with gilt roman hours and gilt hands, together with the Brocot visible escapement below 12 o'clock and slow/fast adjuster at the dial top. French brass spring driven pendulum regulated movement striking on a bell, maker unknown, but stamped on the back plate #274.
