French 8 day walnut cased mantel clock striking on a gong, circa 1870. Elegant lancet topped case with extensive floral themed marquetry inlay and integral plinth with brass bun feet. Gilt brass bezel with convex glass over an enamelled convex dial with black roman hours and black steel moon hands, slow / fast adjust at 12 o'clock. Ornate brass rear door with sound frets over a good quality French brass drum, spring driven pendulum regulated, movement by Vincenti. Movement and pendulum both numbered #66655 and the movement stamped with the Vincenti mark incorporating a 'Medaille d'Argent - 1855' award.
