French Deadbeat 8 day Walnut Cased Time Piece



French mid C19th 8 day time piece by Victor Anathase Pierret (1806-1868) who made clocks in Paris and exhibited at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851. Drum shaped round topped walnut case over a decorated walnut plinth base. Gilt brass bezel with flat chamfered glass over a white dial with black Roman hours and black steel breguet style moon hands. French brass, spring driven, pendulum regulated dead beat 'tic tac' movement signed 'V.A.P' with original set-up and going instructions still in place inside the movement back cover.
