8 day Winterhalder and Hofmeier Ting Tang mantel clock circa 1900. Substantial architectural mahogany case with half turned pillars and other applied decoration throughout. Square wooden door with flat glass over heavily silvered brass dial plate with engraved black roman hours and minute track and ornate blued steel hands. Good quality square brass ting tang spring driven pendulum governed movement stamped 'D.R.Patent' (Deutsches Reich Patent) and 'W&H Sch' (Winterhalder & Hofmeier Schwarzenbach).

Dimensions: Height - 17", Width - 10.5", Depth - 7".

Winterhalder and Hofmeier goes back to Winterhalder Uhrenfabrik in the black forest, a clock manufacturer from 1810. It was further manifested from 1850 under the new name Winterhalder and Hofmeier.
