Swiss made J.W.Benson pocket watch with top wind and time change in an 9ct gold case hallmarked for London c1938. White enamel dial with black Roman hours and blued steel hands with a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o/c. Swiss made Cyma calibre 939a 15 jewel adjusted jewelled lever movement with overcoil hairspring and signed J.W.Benson in a JWB case.

Case diameter - 48.5mm.

J.W.Benson was founded in 1847 in London by brothers James William and Samuel Suckley Benson, this partnership was dissolved in 1855. The factory was bombed in WWII and they ceased manufacturing. Mappin and Webb bought them out in 1980.
