Swiss silver cased pocket watch by S&Co with IWC Peerless signed movement and London import hallmark for c1917. Top wind and rocking bar time change with white enamel dial and black Roman hour markers and blued steel hands with subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o/c. Swiss jewelled lever movement with micro regulator and split bi-metallic balance with overcoil hairspring, numbered 663387 H6, the case maker 'CN' and numbered 718739.

Case Diameter - 52mm, Depth - 15mm.

The watchmaking company Stauffer, Son & Co. was established by Charles Philip Stauffer and his son Julius in Switzerland in 1830 in an office in Geneva and a factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The casemaker 'CN' is Charles Nicolet who was a watchmaker in Tramelan - Dessus between 1914 and 1928 and registered the Nicolet brand name. He produced Swiss lever and cylinder escapment movements as well as watches, including bracelet watches.

In 1868 and American called Aristo Jones from Boston Massachusetts founded the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen Switzerland. One year later they were able to produce 10,000 watches for the American market.
