Swiss Silver Cased Key Wind Cylinder Pocket Watch

Description

Swiss silver cased cylinder pocket watch late C19th made for the New Haven Watch Co. Connecticut. Key wind and time change with signed white enamel dial and black Roman hours with blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds dial. The silver case stamped 0.800 together with a Swiss 1882-1934 proof mark and numbered #2027. Swiss jewelled cut bi-metallic balance movement with cylinder escapement and back plate signed and numbered #1264441 and bearing a raised arm holding a scimitar touchmark.

Case Diameter - 52mm, Depth - 20mm.

The New Haven Clock Company had its origins in the clock manufactory by Chauncey Jerome who was an important figure in the early 19th Century development of the clock industry in Connecticut.
